From growing up 10 minutes apart and not even knowing, travelling the world and sharing a life together. Here is how our journey began...
January 2022
The First Encounter
While home for Christmas break, Matteo and Adrian decided to go to a New Years Eve party. Low and behold, Sam was there. After a few of games of beer pong, love was in the air. A new year was started.
April 2022
Sam's 1st Ottawa Trip
Finally, Sam was able to go see Matteo in his student house in Ottawa. Spending hours chatting, trying new restaurants and exploring the beautiful city that would eventually become her home.
May 2024
Move In Day!
Matteo landed a job in Ottawa so Sam decided to take her nursing talents to the Capital's premier hospital. 27 Marier allowed them to take their relationship to new heights, developing new relationships in the process.
March 14, 2026
She said "Yes!"
In Lisbon, Matteo got down on one knee and popped the question. The most perfect night on the pier, sky lit up with stars, and a Portuguese family ready to film it all. Sam was the only one who didn't know this was happening (but she had a suspicion).
March 2022
Making it Official
After several months of long distance, Matteo and Sam decided to make it official on 3-3-2022. Solidifying #3 as their lucky number. St. Patrick's day being a key moment, when they said "I love you" for the first time.
2022 to May 2024
Making Long Distance Work
Months of FaceTimes, screen sharing movies and hour long phone calls, they were making their relationship work despite over 500 km of distance.
October 2024 to March 2026
Travelling the World
Sam and Matteo started seeing new places together, starting with Boston, then Ireland, next to "The Promise Land" (South Bend, Indiana), and finally, and most magically, Portugal. Trying new foods, experiences and meeting some wonderful people.
